In December we were asked by Ambulance Transfers Ltd to build a unique concept NEPTS vehicle with a host of features not normally found, or unable to be engineered by our competitors.
Input for the design came from various senior clinicians including specialist dementia nurses re the functionality and ergonomics of the design.
We were able to design and engineer functions such as a seat belt release warning system, and extra wide 530mm seats in our R&D department.
The vehicle has electric wheelchair restraints and floor guides for positioning the wheelchair correctly upon loading via the Q series lift. A 3rd point anchorage and roof mounted head rest system provide unparalleled levels of occupant safety, and the wheel chair can be positioned and secured in place in around 90 seconds.
A display monitor will provide information to the patients, similar to what is found in a doctors surgery waiting room, and hearing aid users benefit from a hearing loop installed in the vehicle.
The vehicle has been very well received and I am pleased to announce that we have secured a large order for these vehicles and 2 other variants of the design.
